Athena has a lot of hang-ups related to her feet. And especially with her toes. She thinks they are too long, crooked, and deserve to suffer. That's why, without hesitation, she decided to undertake a series of masochistic tasks for her feet:
Each of her ten toes was tied very tightly with a band, which is used to castrate poultry.
Thus "prepared", she put her toes into fifteen-centimetre-high metal ballet flats; she was to stand in them for at least ten minutes.
The final task was the extremely painful pulling of the castration bands from her swollen toes, which was just as painful as the other tasks. What a brave girl!
