Babs tries the door just past the Washroom that leads into the Kitchen. Locked. She curls back through the Parlor into the Living Room and tries a double door she believes connects into the Dining Room. Also locked.

Babs tosses her hair back, moves toward at the Front Door, and hesitates. Inside looking out. It is the same door Gamers saw Babs enter when we spied on her when she arrived.

A voice in Babs’ head interrupts her indecision and tranquility. It is the voice of her Caste superior, House Step-Mom el Capitan, MomCap for short. “Be sure you linger on the Front Porch for a while, Bikini Babe,” MomCap had commanded, “so Gamers have time to purview you!”

“MomCap, yes MomCap.” Bikini Babe remembers herself acknowledging this order, and confronts the inevitable. It’s dangerous outside. And I know my hasty entrance into the House did not a “linger” constitute.

“I should know what a ‘linger’ is,” BB admits to herself out loud, surprised at how much the Parlor dampens her voice. “After all, I survived pledging last Term.”
