Sarah nervously tapped her foot on the car's floor as she waited in the passenger seat. She glanced at her watch for what felt like the hundredth time. Her best friend's wedding was supposed to start in less than an hour, and they were still a considerable distance away from the venue. Her boyfriend, Mark, had promised to drive her there, but he needed to stop by his office to grab some documents.

"Mark, come on!" Sarah muttered to herself, fidgeting with her phone. She knew he was dedicated to his work, but she couldn't help but feel anxious about being late to the wedding.

As the minutes ticked by, impatience turned into concern. Sarah thought about checking on Mark in the office, but she hesitated, not wanting to disturb him. Instead, she decided to wait a little longer, hoping he'd return any moment.

Finally, Sarah decided that she couldn't wait any longer. She glanced around, looking for Mark, but he was nowhere to be seen. The car keys were still in the ignition, and an idea began to form in her mind.

"I can't believe I'm even considering this," she thought, nervously twirling her hair. "I have no choice; we can't be late for Emily's wedding."

Sarah took a deep breath, glancing around the parking lot, as if searching for a solution. With a mixture of fear and determination, she decided to take the wheel. There was no time to call for a cab or wait for Mark any longer.

She buckled her seatbelt, adjusted the mirrors, and started the engine. The car's manual transmission was something she had never dealt with before, but Sarah had seen Mark drive it countless times. It couldn't be that hard, right? She hoped her quick e search on how to drive a manual car would pay off.

Her heart pounding, Sarah cautiously stepped on the clutch with her high heel dangling from her foot and put the car into first gear. As she attempted to release the clutch and give it some gas, the car jerked forward and promptly stalled. She tried again, and the same thing happened.

"This is going to be tougher than I thought," she muttered, trying to keep her composure.

After several more attempts and a few stalled starts, Sarah started to get the hang of the clutch's engagement point and the car's biting point. With perseverance, she managed to keep the car from stalling every time she changed gears. As she began to gain confidence, her driving became smoother.

Sarah couldn't help but feel a mix of thrill and fear as she drove, all while wearing her high heel mules. She tried to focus on the road, praying that she wouldn't encounter any traffic or challenging maneuvers.

With each mile she covered, Sarah's confidence grew. She couldn't believe she was driving a car she didn't even own, and without a license at that. But she was doing it, and she was determined to get to Emily's wedding on time.

As the venue came into view, relief washed over Sarah. She had made it, against all odds. She parked the car, took a deep breath, and composed herself before heading inside.
