THE BIRCHING TABLE ONE
This device for securing young delinquents for punishment originated in Scotland. Mainly used for birching, the tawse was also used as a punishment on this table. It is said by some who received it to be more dreaded. The last recorded birching was in Fort William in 1948.

Up before the Magistrate is George Andrews (Joshua Clark) His law breaking has finally earned him a dose of the birch. Unfortunately his cheeky attitude has also come to the attention of the Magistrate and it is ordered he receive further punishment as that of a naughty boy! To a senior boy this, meaning a good spanking, after a stinging birching, will no doubt take him down a peg or two.

The second on the court list is Gordon Davis (David Hines) He has been a regular at the court and the Magistrate can seen no other way now that to give this offending lad a short sharp shock. He will lay face down on the birching table and endure the birches scorching sting. However, if that's not enough then there is no reason why the duty office should not lay on a good spanking too.

Both lads will need to keep there bare bottoms raised high for punishment, if not a ginger feage inserted will soon see to that!

THE BIRCHING TABLE 2
The old birching table has been dusted down and fresh new birches soaked in brine have been made up. The duty officer, who's job is it is to administer the discipline, is standing by note book in hand ready to carry out the sentence of the police court.

First on his list is Albert Higgins (Adam Black) This young offender has just caused a lot of trouble while serving his sentence. He is back in front of the Justice who is less than happy with his latest conduct. The Magistrate sentences Albert to a birching and to quell his childish behaviour a good spanking on his bare posterior to follow! He will return to prison with a very sore backside indeed.

Second on the list is a more senior lad, Arthur Rogers (James Holt) He is up before the court for theft. The sentence will be a birching this time as he has been warned several times before. However it has come to the Magistrates notice that he was very insolent during his custody period. This particular Justice is not at all amused and as with Higgins adds a spanking to Arthur's sentence. A well deserved hard spanking on an already well birched bare bottom will be a scorching ordeal for this hapless villain.
