I go for Option 2.

I tie you up and gag you, so you have no choice but to listen to my torrent of verbal. I can see you trying to close your eyes and take yourself away to your "happy place" but a quick series of jabs to your face quickly snaps you out of it. I'm sure you are starting to have flashbacks from being bullied at school by this stage, but I remind you that something far more sinister is going on.
I break you down mentally in every single way possible, until you are left as nothing but a quivering mess.
