Dank meiner skandinavischen Wurzeln weiß ich das ganze Jahr über das „Friluftsliv“  zu Deutsch: Freiluftleben) zu zelebrieren. Kalte Temperaturen sind für mich also kein Grund, das Haus nicht zu verlassen. Meine Viecher halten auch keinen Winterschlaf und benötigen bei Wind und Wetter ausreichend Bewegung. Der Ausritt im Winter ist aber nicht immer von Gemütlichkeit geprägt. Der Wind ist manchmal so eisig, dass meine Nase ununterbrochen läuft. Mein Pony muss ich nun noch viel mehr mit der Gerte antreiben. Nur wenn es richtig ins Schwitzen kommt, werde ich durch d ie aufsteigende Wärme durch seinen Rücken gut gewärmt. Ich habe mir aber auch etwas überlegt, damit mein sonntäglicher Ausflug zu dieser Jahreszeit nicht zum Kälteschock für mein Pony wird. Ich habe seine Hinterhufe mit speziellen Thermosocken versehen und an den Vorderhufen bekommt mein Pony ausnahmsweise Handschuhe. D ies besondere Winterausstattung dient aber keinesfalls dem Wohlbefinden meines Ponys. Nein, ich erachte diese natürlich aus reinem Selbstzweck als notwendig. Wenn dem Gaul d ie Hufe absterben, hab ich ein weiteres nutzloses Vieh in meinem Stall das nur Geld kostest und daher baldmöglichst auf d ie Schlachtbank müsste.

Thanks to my Scandinavian roots, I know how to celebrate the "Friluftsliv" (outdoor life) all year round. So cold temperatures are no reason for me not to leave the house. My critters don't hibernate either and need plenty of exercise in wind and weather. However, riding in winter is not always characterized by coziness. The wind is sometimes so icy that my nose runs continuously. I now have to drive my pony a lot more with the whip. Only when it really starts to sweat, I am well warmed by the rising heat through its back. But I also thought of something, so that my Sunday fun at this time of year does not become a cold shock for my pony. I have provided his hind hooves with special thermal socks and on the front hooves my pony gets special gloves. I am such a generous riding Mistress. However, this special winter equipment is in no way for the well-being of my pony. No, I consider these of course for pure self-purpose as necessary. If the hooves of the d ie off, I have another useless critter in my stable that only costs money and therefore would have to go to the slaughter as soon as possible.
